Dimensions are estimated from the photo's image plane using your calibration. Verify with a tape measure before quoting or contracting.

How free AI space measurement works

No tape measure, no site visit, no signup. Three steps and you have dimensions.

1

Upload a room photo

Use a clear, straight-on photo of the room. Your photo never leaves your device — all AI runs locally in your browser.

2

AI finds the furniture

A computer-vision model detects sofas, beds, tables, chairs, TVs, appliances and more, drawing a box around each one in about two seconds.

3

Calibrate & measure

Draw a line over anything with a known size — a door, a credit card — and RoomIQ converts every pixel into feet and inches, then builds your layout report.

One honest caveat

RoomIQ measures the image plane, not the room in 3D. Straight-on photos with a good calibration (a door is ideal) get you within a few percent; angled shots and fisheye lenses drift. Treat it as a fast estimate for planning and quotes — and confirm with a tape before you sign anything.

Beyond the before and after

See your space in a whole new way — with numbers attached.

🚚

Logistics & moving crews

Estimate furniture dimensions from customer photos before the truck rolls. Size loads, plan crew time, and cut down on surprise oversized items — no site visit required.

🏠

Real estate & property

Build room inventories for listings, rentals, and staging. Document what's in a unit at move-in and move-out with a timestamped, dimensioned report.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about measuring rooms with AI.

Is RoomIQ really free?

Yes. The AI model runs entirely in your browser, so there are no servers to pay for and no credits to burn. Upload, detect, calibrate, and export as many reports as you like.

Do my photos get uploaded anywhere?

No. Detection happens on your device with TensorFlow.js. Your photos never leave your browser tab — nothing is sent to Tools2Go or any third party.

How accurate are the measurements?

With a straight-on photo and a good calibration reference (like a standard 36″ door), expect accuracy within a few percent. Angled or fisheye shots drift more. Always verify with a tape measure before quoting or contracting.

What furniture can it detect?

Sofas, chairs, beds, dining tables, TVs, refrigerators, ovens, microwaves, plants, and more. If the AI misses something, use the "Draw a box" tool to add it manually — it gets measured just the same.

What do I get in the layout report?

A timestamped report with every detected item, its estimated width × height, position in the room, your calibration scale, total furniture footprint, plus your client, property, and notes fields. Export to print/PDF, CSV, or JSON.
